Natural Newborn Photography
This little cutie is just two weeks old. He doesn’t like being naked, getting changed or laying on his back! He’s also a hungry little caterpillar, requiring plenty of feeds. This meant that we just had to be a little more patient with him. When Elroy did settle down, he was just so angelic! Those large inquisitive eyes just loved the camera until he was so tired out from having his portrait taken that he slept as a baby should.

Wanting to keep newborn photography sessions natural, I’m always looking for beautiful textures and meaningful items within the home to use. We used a beautiful crocheted blanket which was made by his grandmother for his mother when she was a newborn herself. Teddy was a gift from his parents so we wanted him in the photos. The velvet chaise lounge was just a gorgeous spot for baby to lie and had enough room for his fur-siblings to join in. The vintage rug was also a beautiful feature which I had to use. There was beautiful natural light streaming in from the window to light up our newborn photography session so there was no need for any harsh artificial lighting which would disturb baby.
Hello Pets!
Not wanting to miss out on the action, his fur-siblings joined the photo shoot under the watchful eye of mum and dad. It’s always a little tricky photographing animals around babies, especially when these dogs were so excited about what was going on! They did settle down for a split second for me to snap a couple of gorgeous photos with the new addition to their family. The photo of their cocker spaniel guarding Elroy is one of my favourites.
