The beach is one of our favourite places to hang out during the summer! Summer is obviously the most pleasant time to head to a beach but it’s a beautiful photography location at any time of the year. That’s why we’ve chosen it for a few of our own family photo sessions.

We’re at Altona Beach for this one. Equipped with a bucket and a fishing rod made from a stick and some rope with an apple as the dangling bait, we headed out to do a spot of fishing. Altona Beach is quieter than most beaches and has a pier which we could drop the fishing line from. Needless to say, our poor little man didn’t catch any fish but we did get photos which we love!

Melbourne Beach – Natural photos

We kept the styling for this photo shoot simple, opting for whites and neutrals. There are so many options when it comes to styling for a beach shoot. Even bold colours would work. Whatever colour choice, just make sure all members of the family are dressed to compliment each other. The best thing about a family photoshoot at the beach is that you don’t have to worry about wearing shoes!
